From the darker regions of Ball's guitar and amplifier work and the most deadly regions of Andrews' rhythmic minimalism comes a uniquely focused debut album.

SPILLINGS shows two artists developing a new language, both ascetic and intimate. The weight of desire is laid bare. This is music for ruins and resonant chambers, for those willing to dwell in wanting. No climax here, only submission…

The work is rooted in minimalist rock and post-industrial electronics, zones Ball/Andrews have explored with projects like BIG | BRAVE, Aicher, My Disco, and Eros, but now leaving only the most essential components and hypnotic structures.

Each vibration pares back form. Narcotic vocals fly low. Subterranean pulses urge each track onward. Rapturous guitar incants and binds. The confluence begets materiality, sounds become solid. Compositions as brutalist architecture.

Ball, from Montréal, has released 9 albums with BIG | BRAVE in just over 10 years along with two solo guitar albums LPs, two cassettes and a photobook on The Garrote (who is also releasing SPILLINGS). Andrews, from London by way of Australia, Copenhagen and Berlin, spent 15 years with My Disco and recently launched a solo project (Aicher) and also recorded two full length records with Karl O’Connor and Boris Wilsdorf as Eros. Andrews is now a full time member of BIG | BRAVE after years of touring as bassist.

Ball and Andrews' collaboration in SPILLINGS demonstrates a shorthand based not only on shared sensibilities/tastes but also on a long-term real-time relationship with sound pressure, developed over years touring together across the US and Europe. The debut album was recorded with Seth Manchester at Machines With Magnets in January 2025.
